K-TLO has promoted a technology transfer from Universities to the industrial sector since our establishment (1998). On July 2003, the law “Improvement project for the intellectual properties in University” was enforced and the Universities set up their own IP management section. From the setting up the section in the Universities, we had overlapping works with the sections and it makes a complicated process to forward the technology transfer.
In recent years, we solved the complicated problems and built up the closely partnership with the Universities below.
Kyoto University
We have made a contract for business trust agreement concerned with management for IP in Kyoto University since April 2008. Our staffs evaluate an invention (except a medical field) from the University’s researchers and support the patent application with exclusively. From the formulation of the structure, we are representative to IP management section on Kyoto University and a company which is interested in the University’s IP is able to contact to us on unify.
Furthermore we established the branch office in the University and 8 staffs work in the office.
(We are in terms with the University on IP management in medical field.)
Wakayama University
We have made a contract for business trust agreement concerned with the technology transfer from the University with exclusively and been representative on management the University’s IP for companies.
We also established the branch office in the University and 1 staff works in the office.
Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine
We have made a contract for business trust agreement concerned with the technology transfer from the University and IP management with exclusively and been representative on management the University’s IP for companies. 1 staff is engaged in the University.
Nara Medical University
We have made a contract for business trust agreement concerned with the technology transfer from the University and IP management with exclusively and been representative on management the University's IP for companies. 1 staff is engaged in the University.
Ritsmeikan University
We have made a contract for IP management with the University. The contract is going to revise with arranging the overlapping work.
Other Universities
Concerned with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, Kyoto Institute of Technology and Doshisha University, we work in close coordination with the IP management section.
